Early Help

Supporting Families

At Jubilee Park Academy School we recognise the challenges that families face in bringing up children. There may be times when you need extra help and support. If this is the case, please come and talk to us. There are many ways in which we can help and offer advice and support you as parents. Our door is always open, so please reach out to us if you feel you need some support.

Please see below for some of the ways in which we can help and support or click on the 'Supporting Families Provision' document below for further information.

Black Country Food Bank Vouchers

We recognise there are times when the cost of living for our families becomes very difficult and you may require a little extra support to ensure that you can provide a hot, nutritious meal. Please reach out to a member of the team and we can issue you with a food voucher to support at these difficult times. Help is always available so please just ask and these will be issued very discreetly.

Uniform

We have a selection of pre-loved uniform available in school if you are finding it a challenge to purchase a new item of uniform for your child. Please reach out and speak to a member of the team who will be able to help you.

Nurture and SEMH support

This intervention is accessible to all pupils who may be experiencing difficulty with their social, emotional and mental health which may impact on their home/school life.

Inclusion Support

External support is vital to support the staff at Jubilee to assess and support provision for pupils with SEND. We work alongside providers of the following services:

  • Specialist teachers for Learning (SENAT-L)
  • Specialist teachers for Social, emotional and Mental Health needs (SENAT-B)
  • Educational Psychologists
  • Complex Communication and Autism team (CCAT)
  • Early Years Inclusion Team
  • Health Services
  •  School nurses
  • Pupil and Adolescent Mental Health team
  • Physiotherapists

Inclusion Support- meetings are held twice a year with the SENAT-L , SENAT-B and Educational Psychologists to discuss the children that they are involved in. At the meeting, SENDCo will then have the opportunity to discuss any other children that they need advice about. If further action is required, then documents will be completed alongside staff and parents and appropriate referrals will be put in place.

Speech and Language

This is for children who have been referred for SLT (Speech and Language Therapy). Once referred, children will be assessed by SLT, depending on the child’s needs interventions will be put in place to support children.

We provide individualised programmes to support children to work on their individual targets through our Learning Support staff, who are guided by a Speech Therapist (assigned to Jubilee Park Academy) these programmes can include speech sound production, language development and social skills.

Working in Partnership

Working in partnership with a range of agencies at Jubilee Park Academy means we are more effective in promoting support as soon as we can to our pupils and families. Early Help means providing support as soon as a problem emerges, at any point in a child's life, from the foundation years through to the early teenage years. It is our aim that families will receive the right support, in the right place, at the right time. (Sandwell EH strategy 2022-2024).
